Trip cost includes:

• Round-trip flights from Miami to Cuba.
• Luggage fees for 1st & 2nd Bag (2nd bag is for supplies / or tools @$200)

The trip fee covers all the necessities on the ground, and you will have difficulty finding things and places to spend money on. 

Does not include:

• Your originating airfare from your home city to Miami (Do not purchase until you have been approved and instructed by CRI Deployment)
• Passport or visa fees
• Hotels in Miami or other personal travel stops outside of Cuba.
• Personal expenses like laundry, hotel incidentals, souvenirs, additional snacks, etc. 

All trip members are asked to bring an extra suitcase with the following items:

Medicines:

• Acetaminophen, stomach relief, allergy medication, cough and throat medicine.
• Children's Tylenol, ibuprofen, and multivitamins for men, women, and children.

Food:

• Any type of non-perishable food is helpful, especially protein-rich items.

Toiletries:

• Soap, toothpaste, laundry detergent, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes.

Office Supplies:

• Items for our church and network churches (e.g., pens, paper, etc.).

Equipment for the Church:

• Wireless microphone.
• Speakers and rechargeable lamps.

Work Project Supplies:

• Tools and materials for repair, painting, plumbing, and general work on the houses we will assist with.

Personal Items:

• Pack clothing appropriate for a warm tropical environment. Have nicer clothing for church services, and work clothes for project days. We will also have a beach day. 
• Bring all personal toiletry items, medicines, and snacks, as it can be difficult to purchase things locally.

Clearing Customs

You are entering Cuba under a special OFAC license and visa. Remember the license type you selected when purchasing your visa: "Religious Activities" or "Humanitarian."

If Customs asks about your plans, state that you are visiting and helping friends with projects, attending churches, going to the beach, and experiencing the culture and sights in Cuba.

Important Documents to Bring to Cuba:

• Your paper VISA (either acquired before the trip or at the airport).
• Your passport and a photocopy of your passport.
• A copy of your travel insurance, flight confirmations, and the address where you will be staying (this will be provided after trip acceptance).

Bring cash. U.S. dollars (USD) are widely accepted for exchange, but Cuban banks do not accept US credit or debit cards. 

• Convert cash to Cuban pesos (CUP) at official exchange offices or hotels upon arrival for local spending.
• Avoid relying on ATMs – They may not work with foreign cards, especially from the U.S. - if you can even find one, the exchange rate is unfavorable. 
• Small denominations – Bring smaller bills for easier transactions and tipping. 
• Keep receipts – When exchanging money, keep receipts if you need to reconvert any pesos.
• Have emergency cash – Bring more than you expect to need, as credit cards aren’t an option.
